Under the Patronage His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities hosted a spectacular charity gala offering a feast of entertainment and a dose of high-tech fashion on 27th May 2016 at Hotel Intercontinental, Festival City Dubai, Al Ras Ball Room.
With more than 400 guests in attendance, the black tie event received massive support from VIPs, delegates, business leaders, socialites, celebrities and influencers.
The gala night was opened by an inspiring Al Noor video presentation which took the audience through a journey of the various achievements of Al Noor training center and displayed the ongoing efforts and initiatives taken up by the center throughout the year. An acknowledgement video was run as a token of appreciation and thanks to all the supporters and the community who touched the lives of students and made a positive impact on their development.
The opening speech was by Ms. Isphana Al Khatib, Director of the Centre who thanked the supporters saying, “We are overwhelmed by the support and turn over for the Gala. We thank all the sponsors and guests for showing love, supporting our cause and helping us achieve our objectives Your support enables us to continually improve our services to benefit our children. Out Assistive Technology program empowers them and enables participation”
Mr. Khalid Al Halyan, Chairman, Al Noor Training Centre, expressed his vision saying, “There is an ever growing need for high quality services for our students and parental funding does not adequately cover the cost per child. By supporting the gala and contributing to our fundraising efforts guests and sponsors have made a difference for the community.”
Like always, there were many thoughtful offerings in the grand and glitzy night. However, the most memorable and impactful part of the gala was the unveiling and auctioning of the couture collection by Si Fashion Galerie & House of Van der Haer designs. The artwork done by 12 year old Al Noor Student, through eye-gaze technology was transpired in pure silk dresses with an elegant East meets West style. The couture was auctioned for a generous amount of AED 12,000/-.
This was an incredible way to inspire and promote the unstoppable talent of special needs students in front of the community.
Other highlights of the event were musical performances with fusion of languages and genres, blended with Jazz notes and Hindustani classical Raagas strummed on acoustic guitars, dance choreography. The show was ushered by Dubai’s very own emcee Errol Goveas.
Living upto Al Noor’s tradition, guests also got the opportunity to bid for paintings by celebrity artist Jim Wheat from Dollars and Art in collaboration with the children of Al Noor. The silent and live auction by Pioneer Auction house generated a generous amount for the Centre. Goody bags sponsored by L’Oreal and chocolates by Patchi were much appreciated by the attendees.
The show came to a spectacular end with the finale dance performance sponsored by the Silver Sponsors, The Red Baron Management Consultants.
